What's a good HMH scaled score? ›

The Lexile scale ranges from 200 to 1700. Lexile is a readability test to determine how well students can comprehend materials found in the classroom— textbooks, literature, etc. Lexile assigns a number, which acts as a difficulty level of a reading passage.

A scaled score typically tells us how well a child did on a specific sub-test, and a standard score typically tells us how well a child did on a broad domain (which is often made of sub-tests). Scaled Scores have a score range of 0 – 19 points, with an average score of 10 points.
