For U.S. students, the first digital SAT test date is March 9, 2024. The SAT is offered 7 times per year: in March, May, June, August, October, November, and December. Some schools also administer the test for their students during the school day. You can take the SAT as many times as you want to.

It will then be offered in the U.S. beginning in spring 2024. Most students who take the SAT do so for the first time in the spring of their junior year. So, for students testing internationally, those in the class of 2024 will be the first to take the digital SAT.

For starters, the digital test will be shorter and adaptive. That means the test will get harder as the student progresses through it, but the level of difficulty will depend on how they performed on earlier questions.
